Today

I am craving for yellows.
In a desperate search of a neon or a bright yellow cardi.
Anyone can knit?

Rihanna, the ultimate *********

I am sorry I can't type the word. Even a dutch magazine'e editor in chief had to resign over a joky review on the singer (read here), which in reality was a mere appraisal of Rihanna, but the diva along with her PR's and managers lacked a sense of humour that day and thought it was unfair of others using the same vernacular as she does in her songs. You see, Ri, not everything in life is pon-de-replay and fu*king over a birthday cake and you do need to read between the lines occasionally.
Rihanna captivates my attention a lot. Her aggressive looks, a ********* attitude and the ostensibly continuous relationship with Chris Brown.
But what bewilders me the most is not when she gets it right (stylewise), but when the ********* cocks up and dunns something utterly wrong; thence I draw my inspirations from. You may think it is queer but I'd challenge you to remember if you've seen a person on the street wearing the same item that you've got and you telling yourself that he/she deffinitely got i wrong and it looks nothing as good as on you. So am I right then?
Even though this kind of method is so much less powerfull than a straightforward inspirations from celebrities and glossy magz' skinny b-ches, but here Ive got a little thing that got me completely bonkers.
The pyjama garment by Emillio Pucci that Rihanna wore at The Battleship Premiere:

Despite that it is one of the trickiest trends and I'd rather drop it than wear it in a full suit, she went for the challenge and I think she got it wrong. Wearing the trousers as loose as the top and in the same texture and fabric will only make your silhouette disappear in endless draperies that don't even drape properly as the silky material is just too weightless.
Here's my interpretation of pyjama elements in your garderobe:

and of course the same trousers featured before:

Jibba jabba

Just don't start with..."Yeah, typical Baranovska" ...
I've been looking at a different type of spiky and dangly ear pieces since the last year when they just began to appear on American websites at the price of 70 bucks each; which was a rip off for somebody like me- collecting chests of bling-bling treasures and wearing nothing but a couple of little pearl ear studds on a daily basis.
Hence I am so delighted I got this for some 6 pounds from H&M...
The problem is that it is designed for the left ear but I definitely get extremely disconcerted once some extra accessories go on the left side of my body. You know...if you need to make a bow, a knot or a side-pony-tail most of the people would prefer one or the other side of their body. So I am one of that cast who wears everything on the right side.

Ear cuff

When the ear cuff is worn on its correct side there are some tacky crystals which make the cuff look cheep and preposterous beyond the exuberance of the idea already...just reduces it to a completely daft look, so  definitely better with the backside.

The same jacket-how to play it up

Another way of wearing the jacket I showed here a couple of days ago. And as I just said it was asking for some yellows, so I dunned my yellow- akaVersace dress, got some cheap bling-blings from Primark and off you go.

Another office look

For those who crave for some summery looks and are not confined to your work uniform; are not restricted in one or the other way in colour and cut of their apparell- I advise to adhere to the classics. This way you will always look smart: a jacket, a pair of chinos and loafers/brogues. But the colours, patterns and fabrics can be absolutely anything. Dodge your black/greyish jackets and don some pales, whites, nudes and pastels. Or may be even paisley kinda banana pants.
Now...I need a yellow bag and yellow nail varnish...

An office dress and rubber boots

dress, office dress, office wear, multicolour, sleeveless, simple, fashion, vintage
It's been a very quite month on the garderobe, but was nothing like it for me. Juggling 7am work start, intermittent kind of relationship, doctor appointments and self grudging ambitions keept holding me back from churning out some good quality articles that are all freshly cooked and ready to go up (just need to be written): pyjama suits from Stella McCartney, how cool to be simple and that I' ve got a pair of carrot-orange Wellies.
I do! I really really do.
Wellingtons, orange wellies, rubber boots, fashion, shoes, rainy weather,All in all, I have now accumulated quite a bit stuff which is bound to appear here very soon.
Meanwhile I am sharing a picture of my new dress which I wore to work this week and received lots gratitude from the contemplators ...in other words compliments.
There are so many things about this dress that makes it tick. First of all the cut is simple and very well done. The fabric is light but doesn't crumple hence it flows effortlessly and with style (I suspect it must be super synthetic, however not sweaty).
The skirt swerves down from around your waste creating an endless swing around your hips and bottom. It is a bell-shape hence it flatteringly disguises the bits you want to be covered (well, I want). And the length is the supper-dupper winning length. I discovered it when I had my very first skirt brought to me by my mum from Amsterdam. It was an H&M skirt, and back in Latvia we didn't  know about the brand which sounded so brandishly chick and cool. I was a school girl and it was the most beautiful skirt I've ever had. (I have seriously fallen out of love with skirts these days though)
So the length, yes, half a knee is a trick. Half a knee covers the fat part of a knee, oh c'mon ladies, we al know that this little freaky bump right above your kneecap just makes you cringe especially when you pinch it with your fingers ..yuuuk, hate the thing, but once it covered, the visible rest of your knees look tiny and thin, and following the look down towards the shoes the calfs would be wider and then thinner again at the ankles. This subtle and line creates a visual effect of longer and leaner limbs!

Another trick are the colours of this dress. Some of the squares are coral rather than red.  The one on the top part is definitely coral. When trying the dress I had an option to go for a red square, but the coral is much more subtle and is flattering to the skin colour. And I absolutely love the fact that the background is sandy-beige instead of a plain white.
I have to admit this super dress went with a hideous piece of a belt which I had to remove together with the eyelets. Nevertheless 5* to the garment, and guess what- produced in Estonia. Would you believe it? Vyery vyery chip too!

Now I need a pair of these patented nude platforms. Any ideas? Only vyery vyery chip are accepted.

Ok, more to come. Watch this space.
