Either due to the propitious time of the year or the favourable economical situation (some people are lucky); but since the Royals' bash the wedding frenzy has contagiously disseminated across the UK. Only last weekend we struggled to find a landing spot in the local pub (giving it was a sunny afternoon), where we WOULD NOT be chased by a gang of stag do's lunatics: spidermen, red riding hoods and other fairy tales’ characters. On the top of that, we too, seem to have got ourselves hopelessly involved into the wedding business- having a couple of ceremonies to commemorate this summer. And what worries us far more than the bride’s dress is our own outfit.
An inestimable relief came with Christopher Kane’s latest Spring collection. Simple but gorgeous chiffon pleated dresses came as an answer.
The purity of the silhouette is overridden by fruity shades, giving the dress sense of frivolity and vibrancy. The almost palpable sweetness of the colour guarantees a refreshing effect of Turkish sherbet, an ice-cream, or an old-school chewing gum... ?!
So everything you need is the perfect cut by Wilma Flinstone in electric 'gelato' and the new trend of a magic fairy established n'est pas?
Either way it looks like a perfect dress for multiple occasions: a cocktail party, a stroll along the beach or even a wedding.
To reduce exaggerated airiness of magic fluids just add a poignant accessory matching with your hairpin or a piece of jewellery (and remove the magic wand, otherwise the stag lads would think you are one of their tribe).
But with all due respect to every person’s unique beauty, not everyone would make it up to a fairy. Don’ t yet fall into despair even if you feel you are more of Virginia Woolf character.
Stick to your usual preferences, but avoid wearing sequined patterns this year and reduce your dark colours to minimum. In the summer they tend to give a sultry and a faded look.
